Clawson: "ObamaCare was the Wrong Prescription for our Economy, Job Creation and Fairness!"

Statement

Date: Feb. 3, 2015
Location: Washington, DC

Congressman Curt Clawson (FL-19), voted to repeal ObamaCare today by supporting H.R. 596, a bill he co-sponsored. Following the vote of 239 to 186 to pass the legislation, Clawson issued the following statement:

"Since it's enactment in 2010, ObamaCare has created uncertainty and shackled the American economy. Additionally, it has reduced the working hours and increased the healthcare costs on the hard-working Americans who were promised relief, not hardship, by their elected officials.

"Six years ago there were problems with America's healthcare system -- but ObamaCare was absolutely the wrong prescription. We can do better. We've got to replace ObamaCare with a fair, patient-focused, market-based system and no one should lose their healthcare. Healthcare fairness for all means letting individuals keep the plan they like.

"Congress must keep their promise to those who put us in office by repealing ObamaCare, providing real healthcare solutions, and improving America's competitiveness."
